Why do men choose and adhere to a meatless diet?

The purpose of this study was to investigate influences, motives and adherence factors explaining why men choose adhere a meatless (vegan, vegetarian or pescetarian) diet. An online survey distributed through social media, yielding 544 international respondents with information on sociodemographics, values, main barriers, motivation influence towards lifestyle choice. open question gathered qualitative data how participants overcame perceived barriers eating. larger influencer scientific research (19.1%) as their motive animal welfare (49.1%).
